Yeah, I'm getting the mental image of shag carpeting. A 70s vibe re-envisioned through a modern lens.
In an odd way, the smell kind of reminds me of the scent of my grandmother's house when I was a kid. Smoke had infused the carpeting and upholstery, but it was somehow pleasant, balanced with patchouli and other incense-like smells of various candles and scented knick knacks.
That doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement but I find the scent to be not only nostalgic, but masculine and comfortable. Self-assured and laid back. It's not a daring scent per se, but then there's nothing I can think of that quite captures this vibe.
Quite enjoying this for what it is. I have no "Tom Ford baggage" as I had no expectations and don't really care about the man or his image.
