I see Encre Noir available at reputable discount sites for a good price.  I'd like to buy a bottle as a birthday gift for a dear friend, male, who loves vetiver scents of all kinds, but especially rooty, dry vetivers.  He would not, for example, be interested at all the in L'Artisan one or the Vetiver Orientale by Lutens.  Even Sycomore had too much sweet, extraneous stuff going on in it for him.  I smelled EN briefly, but it was a couple of years ago, and all I remember is that it was a little too masculine for me.  My friend owns the Frederick Malle Vetiver Extraordinaire, and would wear it every day except that he wants to avoid nose fatigue.  Doesn't mind wearing lighter, more "casual" vetivers either - like the Roger & Gallet, or the Patricia de Nicolai.

So, Encre Noire?  At the very least, he'd love the bottle.  Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks!
