In the materials I was browsing, things such as Ambrarome Absolute Synarome, Anethole, Boronol, Camphene, Canthoxal, Corp Racine VS, Cresol, Evernilox, Furfural, Isoamber Super, Isoananat, Madranol, Palisandin, Patchouly Ketone, Prenol, Rhubafurin, Sabinene, Styrene, Trimofix.

Styrene, for example, sounded particularly exciting from the description: "olfactory note: pungent, gassy; slightly fresh-aromatic on dilution, styrax connotation; ; taste: penetrating, gasoil, plastic-like; ethereal ;"

Some of these materails I am familiar with and possess, some I have heard of, but do not hold, and several I have never heard of...

Ambrarome Absolute Synarome, Never heard of (NHO)
Anethole, Know of, do not hold (KDNH) constituent of many EO's
    Boronol, Typo? Have Boronal
Camphene, (KDNH) constituent of many EO's
    Canthoxal, Have it
    Corp Racine VS, Have Sample
    Cresol, (KDNH) but have Para-Cresol
Evernilox, aka Evernil, aka Verymoss, very common...
    Furfural, (NHO)
Isoamber Super, Same as Iso E Super, very common
Isoananat, akacyclogalbanate, Have it, relatively common
Madranol, Yes, more obscure, hard to find, but have it.
    Palisandin, Have it,relatively common
Patchouly Ketone, akapara-tert- BUTYLCYCLOHEXANONE, aka Irisone, harder to come by,(KDNH - yet)
    Prenol, (NHO)
Rhubafurin, Typo? Rhubafuran? more obscure, hard to find,Have Rhubafuran
Sabinene, (KDNH) constituent of several EO's
    Styrene, (NHO)
    Trimofix.Have it
What other materials do we wonder about,
Who else can offer ideas or opinions on these?
What other questions do we, you, wish to propose?
What do you want to know about the materials that I've mentioned I have?

Thanks for firing this up, Paul -- and for pointing out which you're familiar with. I think even adding ingredients that people have found unusual / striking that are quite common would also be fascinating (to me, at least).

Furfural sounds like it'd be quite "hamster cage" -- which is kind of my thing.

Furfural is quite unstable and is fairly toxic (even though it is found in many foods) ; it also causes skin sensitivity and an increased susceptibility to sunburn.

These descriptors speak to my own personal sensibilities.

Thanks, David -- I'll look into getting my hands on some.
