is amouage interlude a safe bet for a blind buy? If I love heavy stuff like Guerlains and oud?
I'd definitely sample - preferably with a small decant in a spray.
I sampled using a dab-stick over a period of weeks and then decided to pull the trigger on a purchase. The development of Interlude from my bottle is really very different from the sample dabbed on. While probably true for many fragrances with Interlude it's a difference of magnitude.

It's a massive amount of oregano. Huge!
The myrrh, oud, and sandalwood are low in comparison. It's a great scent, but it's not your standard incensey number at all.
