Good morning everyone.
Phew, it's a hot hot day today. I'm going to a friends 40th birthday party this evening, in her garden. To heck with something light, I'm thinking about a wee bit Tabac Blond Extrait , thanks to the generosity of our Austrian friend. It will bloooooom in the heat and make me feel all fabulous and mysterious. And it should do nicely with a glass of champagne. Oooh! Can't wait.
Have a wonderful weekend friends.
Foustie, you'll be the best smelling person at the birthday bash for sure, and I agree wholeheartedly about the champagne . Surprised and delighted to say that it is a blissfully cool 19 degrees here at the moment
Productive morning in the local countryside with the obligatory diversion to the local farm shop. Todays haul includes one bottle of mead, two bottles of elderberry wine, one pear and blueberry pie, one orange and rhubarb pie, venison lasagne, chilli sausages, stilton cheese, and two bottles of wheat beer - oh, the waistline !.

Thanks to Quarry, testing Mitsouko Modern EDP(winks at Mimi:)). First time sniffing it, it's definitely interesting! I get leather in this, is that weird? I do like the opening, then becomes woody, leathery? I do like the earthiness to it, I get rose with a sparkling fruit on top. Sweet but serious at the same time. A lot going on with this one. Also, like the forest-like notes. The floral heart is really nice. That sweet peach on top is pretty sweet but the other notes balance it out. Move out of the way Tresor In Love, the bad peach just showed up:). I do like oakmoss, so I am glad I got to try this one. This fume has a very nice dry down. I can totally see why Mimi likes this!
Oh dear, I'm just catching up properly. I didn't even see the post from PerfumedLady above mine yesterday. I'm sorry. I probably started mine then got distracted and meantime PL posted. You have been having migraines darling? Oh dear oh dear oh dear. A curse on them. They are an absolute blight. I know. I had migraine for years, from age fifteen. But here is some good news. I stopped getting them. Just stopped. In my thirties. It happens apparently. Then I had an isolated one years later. You can outgrow them. The same thing happened to my mum. So, fingers crossed. I do hope that you feel better.
I also see that Mr Twolf has had a stroke. I hope that he making a good recovery. It seems that they have had a lot of challenges. Wolfie is strong.
And Jon, the surprise from the Co-op of all places was a Languedoc, not a Langeblahblah or however I typed it. (Blush). Really my typing is atrocipus.
A lazy start today, & there's quite a fresh breeze blowing, so the temperature has cooled here also, to about 25 degrees.
SOTD is Bronze Goddess.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
Foustie, thanks. The whole year of 2013 is catty-wompus here: plans disrupted, illnesses overtake, promises broken, etc. In a year like this, relief is as close as we got to happiness. Is there something wrong with the planets, like Planet Parade retrograde (I feel it is not just Mercury doing it)? I have had tremendous support from our people here and I feel blessed. Oh yes, and I too miss our Austrian friend. You have a good day there, OK?
So, JR, what is a bottle of mead? Grateful to wake up to +24 here (as opposed to +30 yesterday), we are also in a cool spell for a day or two. Have you heard of Bill Bryson? Please check his books on European travels at your local library, he is hilarious. The sole business of English countryside is manufacturing chlorophyll, he said once. So much for British agriculture this year? Good thing that your taste buds are not becoming an endangered species threatened with extinction through boredom! Or, is it all that garden spanking conversation?
Guerlain AA Aromaparfum Apaisant, sort of like a puppy, very likeable and licking everybody and affectionate to everyone.
Have a nice weekend.
