Best CREED Scents?

    Best CREED Scents?

I am ordering a bottle from creedboutique and would like to grab some creed samples.

What are some good creed samples that are unique? (I consider Aventus unique btw)

If not unique, what are some of the best/gems that creed offers with maybe an idea of what it smells like? Thanks.

Acier Aluminium. This is an old-fashioned spicy, fruity scent with a note at the top that people often compare to banana. (I don't quite smell it that way, but I see what they're getting at.) It's dark and classically masculine.

Baie de Genievre. This is big and elegant in the style of the 1980s. Again, classically masculine, with prominent notes of juniper (as suggested in the name) and cinnamon. This is one of the most underappreciated scents in Creed's lineup, IMO.

Banana...that sounds interesting. Do these 2 fragrances have that "typical" perfumey smell that most do? I think JPG le malle and Aventus have the 2 least "perfumey" smells that im talking about if that helps.

If I'm understanding how you mean "perfumey" correctly, I'd say no, those two are definitely not perfumey.

    GIT
    MI
    SMW
    Royal Oud

I guess its the type of sharp smell or like an alcohol smell that is covered up by sweetness or spice. I get it from GIT and I also got it from MI (but more flowery & sweet with MI)

    SANTAL

    Jardin d'Amalfi.

I would say their best is Jardin d'Amalfi. its so pure, so clean, and beautiful.

green irish tweed is my second favorite. probably their best seller.

aventus is both overrated and overhated i think. its pleasant and unique and lasts a long time

you could also try the spice and woods and royal oud, but that ventures into the more niche side of Creed and so you should definitely sample first

also i would add that i would never buy MI, original vetiver or original santal, because Unforgivable, mugler cologne and mont blanc individuel smell nearly identical for a fraction of the price. the creeds are better quality, but not hundreds of dollars better, which is the difference you would be paying.

    IMO Creed must-try fragrances are:

    Aventus
    Spice & Wood
    Royal Oud
    GIT
    Himalaya
    Original Cologne
    Original Vetiver

This is the best advice! I was sampling Tom Ford Neroli Portofino and although I thought it was very clean and good, I actually preferred Mugler cologne. Not the same scent but, close enough to compare apples to apples imo. I wish I had known that before paying $ for the Tom Ford sample. I wasn't looking for a "similar to mugler style" scent.

For instance... If I knew GIT was similar to Cool Water, I would have tried a free sample of Cool Water first to see if it was up my alley.

AVENTUS! ........ Yes,overhypedlike a starving man eating a McDonalds double cheeseburger. BUT... that's why I did NOT like it the first few days I tried it on. Then I started to appreciate it for what it IS rather than comparing it to what people said it was. It is a most unique scent to me. Although, compared to most here...My nose is still virgin.

I like unique. People say I'm unique so it might work on me. If there was a fragrance that smelled like the air right before it rains, i'd wear it.

If there was a cologne that smelled like a campfire with fresh pine trees dripping of sap surrounding, I would buy Aventus. Which is why I like Aventus.

Ignoring discontinued scents, try Jardin d'Amalfi, Selection Verte, Bois de Cedrat (last two rarely have samples), MI, Bois de Portugal and GIT.

Santal imperial is the best creed IMO and I've owned over 30 of them. A fellow BNer mentioned baie de genievre that is also a great one. Basically the best creeds are no longer being made. Gotta love em tho

I have had a very rocky relationship with Creed. Interestingly enough though, during my hiatus from here, several remained in my regular rotation. SMW and OV remain my two most complimented scents. My fiancee loves both of them and every time they go on they will elicit a compliment. They also lead my rotation in compliments from strangers. However, I still wish they had more balls. Their ingredients are great and the scents are well made, but the ones from the era in which Olivier was the head of the house are safer than I'd like. I have higher hopes with Erwin at the healm as they appear to be a bit more ballsy. I have worn Aventus 4 times in as many days since I got the sample and still can't get my head around it enough to write a review. In terms of scents from the house, the hidden gem to me is Vetiver. Not Original Vetiver (which I do love BTW), but Creed Vetiver. It's old school but screams class and is a truly magnificent scent that gets overlooked a lot here. To me it's what Guerlain's Vetiver wants to be when it grows up.

Herein lies the rub. The scents you brought up as comparable can be close. However it's clear the Creed versions are superior. Whether it's worth the money or not is a personal choice. That being said, I think it's close. I am a huge fan of MI and OV for scents that are guaranteed to elicit a positive response from people. i haven't had the same reaction with the Mont Blanc and others. Cologne is close to on par (I really like this scent) but I will say that I do think that MI and OV are worth the extra money. I haven't tried Santal yet, the reviews though on here are dissuading me from getting a decant though.

    ROYAL OUD.

Ho. Lee. Crap. That stuff is marvelous. I cannot emphasize enough just how challenging yet gorgeous it is. Spicy yet kind of sweet and immensely wearable. It's easily my favorite Creed and in my all time top five overall. Royal Oud really wears like a dream on me. I get 10+ hours, moderate projection (not high. I don't like huge projection) and excellent sillage.Obviously, sample, don't blind buy. But it sounds like that's what you're doing, right? ...looking for Creeds to sample? Royal Oud is definitely one to sample.
