Planning a nice personal dinner and a trip to the Met Museum (NYC), whats the perfect scent for a night like that. I own 28 bottles, but i have no clue of remote what frag to wear. Im 26 she is 27, she says she likes spicy scents which I hate. She really loves Him by Hanae Mori, I despise it. Any suggestions designer or niche, price is no option?

Awwww that sounds lovely. I would think GPH1 would fit the bill it's more of a wood spice. There's been good reviews on Amourage Fate man its sound like it might be a good one too maybe someone can chime in?

    Cartier - Declaration d'un Soir.

I would say wear what you know she likes in Hanae Mori. If you're looking for something perfect for a date night...look no further than L'occitane Eau de Baux. Want something spicier? Give Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan or Comme des Garcons Ouarzazate a sniff.

My original thought was SpiceBomb, but I think this is absolutely the best answer!

This. Spicy (gotta cater to your clientele right?), woody, and it has a hell of a lot of sexy rose at the front. Could theoretically be unisex because of the heavy floral note, but it's somewhat spicy and backed with enough sandalwood that it still leans masculine, especially toward drydown. Perfect date fragrance; I pretty much got this FB solely for that reason (well, that and I can't stop smelling myself when wearing). Wouldn't necessarily say spiciness is so much of a main theme here, but definitely a major contributing element. To me it screams "classy as SH*T", which lines up well with the night you have planned.

Of course, there is also a great deal of merit to the idea of going with what she likes. Personally, I would lean towards creating new scent associations and asserting my own style rather than falling in line, so to speak. But you never know with that one.

Anyway, my recommendation is Givenchy Play Intense. And I second the Eau des Baux recommendation. But if you choose Eau des Baux go light on the trigger.

I would consider finding a different date if thats her choice. LOL

I would not wear her suggested choice as i would not want to wear what she smelled on another man.

Wear what you like and she will like it 2. Wear what makes you feel confident.

When I wear cologne I prefer DHI.

    Good luck have fun

As an XX chromosome bearer, let me just say: Nope. The simple fact that your date is wearing it - believe it or not - does not automatically mean you'll like it. :)

OP: wear a favorite scent. Don't fake it. Don't conform to her favorite kind of scent if you hate it.

Oh, and for another shocker: I've never thought - nor have any of my girlfriends said anything about it when we discuss this at our slumberparties (heehee) - "Well, I WASN'T going to give him the oral of his life, but after smelling his perfume..."

    It's a plus, not a potion.

    Rep that, boyz. ;)
