    Hi Everyone,

I would like to warn any one who is about to place an order with Lavish choice, I place an order with them for Ralph Lauren Romance Body Lotion which they said on their site that they had in stock and would dispatch within 3- 5 working days and on their site it was stated that 90% of their customers didn't have to pay any customs as the items were sent as gifts.

Any way the problem was that after four weeks of no communications i contacted them and asked where my items were, i was informed that they were out of stock and they were waits for the new batch, i wrote back to cancel my order, i was informed that they had dispatched and it would be with me within 5 days. After waiting another 2 weeks i wrote again and was sent an tracking reference number which you couldn't track, I then contacted PayPal.
To cut a long story short in the end the body lotion arrived 10 weeks late and i ended up paying £10 custom on it together with £8.00 handling fee to the post office making a total of £18.00. I could have saved my self 10 weeks waiting time together with £15.00 if i had purchased the product in House of Frazer. Plus Pay Pal is useless in this matter.

    Thanks

That is the problem with ordering outside the EU.    Unless they guarantee to refund customs duty you can get caught!    So even stating only per centage does get caught really means nothing.

With PayPal you have to put a claim within 30 days outside that they will do nothing.

It is an expensive lesson unfortunately.    I got caught once long ago and learnt the hard way.

That's a very unfortunate experience you seem to have had. At least you know what to avoid for the next time. Sorry it turned out so badly.

With paypal and ebay, the best bet is to open a case sooner rather than later for items that you haven't received.  Once a few weeks go by, it's pretty safe to assume that there is an issue.  I've learned this the hard way as well, in trying to give the seller the benefit of the doubt, and in the end it just isn't worth it.
