Good morning all !. Still gasping in awe at Wolfie and her incredible stamina - a workday marathon runner for sure.
Congratulations to kumquat
SotD is Yohji Homme.
Picked up yesterday in Selfridges. Gourmands aren't for me as a general rule but this is restrained, elegant, and not overtly sweet. I'd be interested to see how it compares against the vintage. Managed to grab a few samples of the female marketed EDP too which seems promising - looks like a return visit may be in order soon .
You folks in Central Yurup stay hydrated and in the shade, if possible. Get some breeze -- fans, whatever rotates/moves at a high(er) speed.
Today I will do L'Erbolario Fiori Scuri -- wish more people knew about this one!
Have a nice Sunday all.
I will be trying out Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin today from a sample. Happy Sunday!!!!
As requested, a couple of hours later...what do I think?
This is a dark red rose. No cute pink or white rose here, and it's the rose scent of a fully opened, luscious and rich rose. That heaviness is lightened by raspberries (seriously!), and then by a sharp metallic edge. As those wear away, it becomes more spicy, and has what I think of as the Lutens signature (newbie, let's not forget that) becoming more evident. Rose and Lutens base are very nice together. Hmmm....La Fille de Berlin...strangely named. This is not a girl's scent, it is a woman's.
I like it. Oh, how could I forget to add a comment on the color? It is bright pink and very pretty. It should be wine colored, though. The bright pink is deceptive :)
Good morning, everyone!
We're getting ready to head over to Mom and Dad's for breakfast, then Dad's taking us sailing - yaaay! My little nephew is in town so this outing will be extra-fun, guaranteed! And I'm in Laguna for a hot day with a cool breeze out on the water.
Y'all have a fantastic day!
Hello Redhorse - I don't think I've greeted you yet, so a belated welcome to basenotes! Enjoy yourself!
kumquat - congratulations on your big ol' 5k milestone!
