Where I live, in the summer heat, I lose a lot due to expansion and contraction. Most of my plastic decants and travel sprays breathe through the spray aperture, and i am losing too much juice. I have gone back to 5 ML plastic decanters that were nearly full, (that I have forgotten about for over a year) and they were completely empty. The thermostat in my current living conditions just rocks too hard and cannot leave the AC on all the time. With heat exceeding 115° F or 46° C, this has become a problem.
My first notion that the decants are leaking through the sides and the threads, I thought I had solved, using pipe tape. But what I have discovered is that the inside lids to my decants are wet from them breathing from temps going from 90s inside to 70s makes things worse. So I started taping the aperture to see if this was a temporary solution until the weather cools off, this season. It was not. The tape would fill with liquid and drip out.
For one, im tired of these cheap decants in general and losing so much juice. I have a travelo of Interlude man that was full 5 ML about 9 months ago and there was maybe 2 ML left today.
There are a few types of decants that I own that do not do this. I was wondering if there was a superior product out there that I could transfer my juice into, until I find a solution.
I am currently seeking out a cooler that they use for wine to maintain the temps. other than that, I am out of ideas.
What im looking for is an alternative solution so this doesnt happen in the future. Thank you !
