Millesime Imperial vs Jardin D'Amalfi?

    Millesime Imperial vs Jardin D'Amalfi?

    Hey there,

I just got 5 samples in the mail from theperfumedcourt which include:

    -Byredo Pulp

    -Heely Menthe Fraiche

    -Amouage Jubilation XXV

    -Creed Selection Verte

    -Creed Jardin D'Amalfi

I got to say these are all absolutely amazing and incredibly complex. Way beyond what I have been able to smell at my local mall. What really stood out to me though, which I had really been wanting to try for a while, was Jardin D'Amalfi. At first I got a lot of fruit like tangerine and lemon with a bit of flowers. Then it became more floral, but the tangerine and lemon still stuck around. Then in the base I got some woods. It lasted for about 8-9 hours on me.

Jardin D'Amalfi really reminded me of being on the coast somewhere in Italy or France. I have been the Amalfi coast and this is EXACTLY what I would remember it to smell like. If I hadn't known the name of this fragrance I would probably think of the same thing. It just really paints a picture for me.

The thing is though, I really like Millesime Imperial too and I was planning on buying it until I smelled this. My question for you is what are your thoughts on these two fragrances? Which would you go with considering you could get the same size for about the same price? I really love the whole "Amalfi Coast" picture Jardin D'Amalfi paints, but I really love the watermelon note in Millesime Imperial.

    Thanks!

How can you get the same size for the same price?

Since you like both of them, I'd get one now and one at a later time. Perhaps Jardin D'Amalfi first.

I have been wanting to try Jardin D'Amalfi for a long time. MI is a great frag that you really cannot go wrong with. I will try to get my hands on a decant of Jardin D'Amalfi soon enough.

I'm wondering the same thing... But to answer OP's question, I think you should go with Jardin D'Amalfi first. MI is great too but comes second to Jardin.

    Few thoughts.

    1. Judging on scent alone - I like them both equally.

    2. Regarding longevity and projection, Jardin D'Amalfi is much better on my skin.

    3. Overall wearability - MI is a tad better in all occasions.

Well it's a bit complicated, but in a nut shell "I know a guy" wink.gif. Extremely unfortunately, today the "guy" told me that he could not give me this deal anymore, which really affects my decision now frown.gif.

Today I wore Millesime Imperial on one wrist and Jardin D'Amalfi on the other. Yesterday I was thinking that I liked them both a similar amount, but after today, Jardin D'Amalfi is really winning me over. Those citrus notes along with the rose and just incredible! It is a lot more complex than Millesime Imperial which I think I also like. Millesime Imperial is great for its big watermelon note, but it just seems really linear compared to Jardin D'Amalfi. I also asked to women and a man today which one they liked, and they said Jardin D'Amalfi, but they though Millesime Imperial was great too.

So yeah this is really bothering me what the heck I should do! Fragrancenet shows that Jardin D'Amalfi will be "Coming Soon" but I can't wait! I don't know how long it will take.

One question though, how do you think this will go in high school for an incoming Sophmore (me)?

I like both Jardin d'Amalfi and Millesime Imperiale a lot, but right now I think Jardin is a better choice.

Though Jardin is a bit feminine, and Millesime Imperiale is more masculine.

On Fragrancenet, "coming soon" is just a polite way of saying, no we dont have it
