Conifers like pine, fir, and cypress form a common and very diverse perfume category. Depending on concentration and blending, fir or pine notes can lend a fragrance composition anything from a sappy green freshness over resinous and balsamic depth to harsher smoky or almost tarry characteristics. But which woody fir-, pine-, or cypress-focused fragrance is your own personal favorite?

My own vote goes to Yatagan for the way it uses the pine note to very strikingly set off “dirty” animalic and herbal elements. But which one do you like best? Maybe I didn’t even list it?
