I would pick something classy, but not overpowering.
Creed Green Irish Tweed, Kilian Straight to Heaven, and Nicolai New York would be my top choices. But if it has to be an American brand, I would pick Bond No. 9 Wall Street.
I would go with one of the following by Creed:
Silver Mountain Water
Green Irish Tweed
GIT doesn't project much at all, so it's perfect.
The key is you want to accomplish a few things:
a) be taken seriously
b) smell good
c) don't over shadow the big shots by smelling too great
Go with a nice scent which is pretty neutral like a Dior Vetiver or a Creed Himalaya.
I would go for something discreet but smells good whilst been non offensive - Gucci Pour Homme II.
