I have set up a Fantasy Football League in Yahoo. If interested, here is the link. Please use your basenotes name when signing up.
I agree. However, having run leagues before it can be impossible to get people to pay, particularly when, in all likelihood, no one has ever met before. I'd be open to each of us voluntarily providing something to the winner whether that be something from our collections or a gift card.
I'd also be open to each of us voluntarily contributing a mutually agreed upon buy in for a prize to the league winner...This is something the league commissioner can coordinate.
This is a great idea and I'd like to play, but would not be interested in paying cash. I like the idea of contributing something of value, though, and so propose a system where the participants jockey for position to obtain decants from the other players. Perhaps something like this (assuming a 12-team league):
Winner - gets one "X" (whether value or volume) decant from each other player
Runner up - gets one "X minus Y" decant from each other player except winner
Third - gets one "X minus Y" decant from each other player except winner and second
Fourth - gets one "X minus Y" decant from each other player except winner, second, and third
Fifth through Twelfth - the winner of each playoff game gets a "Z" decant from his/her opponent
We'd have to work out some details, but this could be fun.
Let me know your thoughts. FYI, I have been playing fantasy football for several years now and enjoy it, as well as the associations with the other team owners, tremendously.
