Discoveries of a Noob

    Discoveries of a Noob

An ultra Noob to be exact!

I've blind bought and sampled and studied notes and accords and still have such little understanding of what it is I like in what I love or love in what I like. Let alone what I love or like in what I hate.

But I can say, definitively, that I've found four amazing, spellbinding, scents that I will continue to buy until I can no longer find them and that is more encouraging than any of the veteran enablers you'll find in any forum.

On top of that I've got another 5 I've yet to really give a go that I'm extremely excited about, based upon preliminary testing!

Current finds and absolute loves and, I firmly believe, must tries:

    1. Platinum Egöiste, Chanel
    2. Quasar, Jesus del Pozo
    3. Thallium, Jacques Evard
    4. Encre Noire, Lalique

I won't dare sit here and tell you what it will smell like on you, but I can tell you it has the most wonderful ginger, soft woodsy scent that has a great longevity and very decent silage. I got 3-4 hours of moderate projection and 8-10 hours of life on both clothing and skin.

I can only pray your experience is half as positive as mine was with it!

If you'd be so kind, let me know what you think of it once you've given it a fair go. Just respond to this thread. I'd love to know!

I own three of the four all of which are very nice IMO. I have tried the Quasar but found it quite unpleasant and unwearable for me.

That's too bad, it's my second favorite, those being in order.

If be happy to claim a somewhat, if even distant, taste to yours, but given the number of frags you have, and I'm sure find very nice, I'd be reaching deep to do so, to say the least. Lol ; D

Others I've found a believe to be must tries...

Bogart Pour Homme, get a sort of soapy licorice smell, positively marvelous.

Bogart Story Red, a fresh hearty clove spice.

Lapidus Pour Homme, very clean soapy scent.

One I enjoyed greatly, but didn't find lived up to my powerhouse love was Terre d'Hermes. I tried both the EdT and EdP. The parfum was close, very potent lemon and earthy, and both were very decent for silage, but longevity was very poor on my skin. Still highly recommend trying it!

I have all 4 and consider them ok. Encre Noire is the standout.

Thallium is a nice buy for the money.

Quasar is such a difficult scent to wear.

PE is ok but one of Chanel's worst in my book

Encre Noire is fantastic and perhaps the best bargain that exists among men's fragrances, IMO.

Sung Homme, wow, such a smooth and fresh, clean scent. Like Ivory mixed with Irish Spring and some lavender. Absolutely fabulous!

I just got my bottle of encre noire! I spayed it on my wrist and the first blast was intense. It's dark, dirty, earthy scent. The first min I didn't like it. But after that first min the scent was intoxicating to me and now I can't stop smelling my wrist lol. So far I love it.
