What is the most impressive or mind blowing fragrance you have ever smelled?
With a small description of your first impressions of it!
Classics, at first slightly heavy, often leather-based rich, complex fragrances, along the lines of Mouchoir de Monsieur, Knize Ten or Creed BDP (the latter one less leather dominated, but still headily, richly spicy to my nose).
Also, most of the classic interpretations of citrus- this apparently clean, mostly soapy, quite refreshing and astringent notes often get my attention and even fascinate me, especially if crafted and put together the traditional way, as in ADP Colonia, most of the Eau Sauvage line, Armani Eau pour Homme.
This two are not my favourites but definitely mind blowing:
1. Tauer - Carillon pour un Ange: At first a photorealistic Lilac scent that immediately made me think: What the hell is this? A green, humid aroma of mushroomey wet wood & dark and damp earth is following, then a salty ambergris material. This stuff is one of the few scents that makes my mind think of colours as a pale purple & a soft green. And it goes on the very edge of naturalistic & highly synthetic. Impressing.
2. Lush - Breath of God. I like it`s changing of fruity-citrus, smoke, candle wax, vetiver, bubblegum, spearmint, melon and ham (yes!) settling to a symphonic woody drydown.
Mind-blowing for sure, but I can't bear to wear it. I've put mine on a shelf waaay in the back.
