I finally decided to try A*men Pure Havane., that's good stuff! I shied away from it for a while because I dislike the loud and in-your-face aspect of it's older brother. Thankfully, Pure Havane is MUCH tamer. Incidentally, there's suppose to be a tobacco note in this. I don't get any tobacco vibe and therefore don't see strong similarities to Tom Ford's TV like so many other people do. There's a cherry, vanilla, candy thing going on here which makes me think more of Bogart Pour Homme. Bogart P.H. is good for a cheap thrill, but Pure Havane seems to be put together better and not nearly as synthetic smelling. So, fellow Basenoters, what are some other examples of a flanker that outshined the original fragrance?
