Help needed with a GIT bottle

Help needed with a GIT bottle

    Hello everybody!

I'm new to Basenotes even though I've been reading a lot of threads here instealth mode:-)

I just purchased a bottle of GIT from fragrancenet. The back of this bottle looks different from what I see everywhere else: the serial number is not on the bottom of the bottle but on the back like it's shown on the picture. Otherwise, the bottle looks fine but I haven't had a chance to fully wear the juice(just sprayed once on the wrist and the smell seemed finebut I can't surely say it's not Cool Water). So I'm wondering if it's nothing to worry about or should I be concerned. Also, the pamphlet that comes with every Creed bottle was missing from the box.

You help in resolving this issue will be appreciated.

If you got it from Fragrancenet it should be fine, but if for some reason you're not happy with it, see if you can return it. By the way, welcome to you!

Thank you hednic for welcoming me:-) I have a collection of more than 30 fragrances so I have no idea why I didn't join earlier.

I don't want to return the bottle just because I'm paranoid about certain things about it. I'm just curious if any of basenoters have the same bottle of GIT and if it's legit.

Toilet Water? EdT??? GIT is EdP, not EdT!

    How does it smell?

After one spray on the wrist I can only say that it's longevity is pretty decent, lasts more than 6 hours so far. Smells good but I'll tell more after having it fully worn tonight. Definately similar to Cool Water but it's been a while since the last time I wore that.

It should NOT say Toilet Water on it. It also says "Made in Rance". I'd definitely send it back even if it smells good. Either Creed screwed up "royally", or it is a fake.

Actually, it says "France" on the bottle, it's just unclear on the picture... So, nobody seen a bottle like this before, right? What a bummer:-(

Looks suspect...Creed pamphlet missing is an additional flag

Ok, I wore it last night and am also wearing it now. Nothing off with the smell: heart is similar with the Cool Water but opening and dry down are definitely different to my nose. However, the bottle still remains a mystery. No other signs of it being a fake (I studied the subject profoundly). Oh well, I guess, I'll have to live with that:-)

I have two bottles with those markingsbut the last digits are "02" (second quarter of '12). Mine came with the arabian writing which makes them"grey market" bottles, still Green Irish Tweed. It smells right to you with good longevity, then it must be the real thing. However typically it seems that when it's MORE legit, at an authorized distributor (Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf, Creed Boutique) the batch number is placed on the ridge of the bottom of the bottle. My juice smells right but the longevity sucks (likely a skin type thing but I wouldn't know since this is all I have). I got mine through Amazon and they tried twice, then refunded mymoney. So not a fake, just grey market.

Thanks, rouj, that made things clearer. I have some arabian writing on the back of the box. My Aventus bottle has the same thing. Maybe it's just for sale in the Middle East.
