so it recently occurred to me that i recently purchased a bottle of john varvatos 10th anniversary that i almost have every bottle except the new platinum and rock volume one and now i feel like i have to get them just wondering does anyone else have the same "problem" that i have.(also now i am looking for a bottle of rock volume one oh well)

I don't really feel the need to keep a fragrance just because I have others in the same line.

I would end up with a ton of scents I don't really care for, especially if I did this for designer houses, what with all the flankers.

You're mixing wearing perfumes with a collection hobby.

Perfumes are to be worn, you're better off collecting other things.

That is true its one of those things where I have tried the new plat, and also would like to pick it up but then I would feel as if I was just one one egg short of a omelet if thats the right saying. While I do wear all of my collection though just a tad on and off with some more favorable then others.

I don't look at it as a problem at all. If you want what's missing, and you can afford it to the detriment of no one, then by all means get it and make yourself happy.

You could do a lot worse than collect John Varvatos. Escada, Nautica, Boss, etc comes to mind. That said, your collection is likely to remain incomplete for as long as the house continues its fragrance production. At the rate these designer houses are releasing flankers, you'll be chasing your tail pretty often.

I did with Mugler's AMEN releases but have stopped..

Pure shot was so awful IMO

I do not have a problem with that as long as the quality is the same or increases.

I'll never buy a parfum just to own everything from a house - not unless I like it; if not, its a waste of money imho.

It does become more difficult though the larger your collection becomes.

Your "problem" is obsessive compulsive disorder, and many people have it--or, at least, so I am told.

not to get all clinical here, but when you start feeling 'bad', and that what your collection wants is more powerful than what you want, it's time to step away or slow down. It's a sign that something is starting to slip out of your control.

as a matter of personal taste, and as a bit of a collector, yes, I know the feeling, but ignore it. Wear the scents becuase you like them, not the bottles because you like looking at them (well, unless that's really all that important to you)
