Well, it depends on how large the "vein" might be. I understand the connection -- the two have more than just vanilla in common -- but I think most people would say they smell vastly different. We're not talking Cool Water/GIT here. And while I've stopped wearing Tobacco Vanille, I do occasionally wear Eau des Baux.
I personally would recommend Eau Duelle. It's a more or less straightforward vanilla, but very different from SDV. Think of the smell of paper in a book, and Eau Duelle is a close to that (with a whiff of vanilla) as you'll find.
