Hoping that other members have some good stories (preferably reasonably polite ones, please!).
One of my grand-mothers apparently used to tell this tale.
There was a little prince who never spoke.
His parents, understandably, were quite upset and became more worried as the years passed - how could he possibly rule if he didn't speak?
One day, when he was about five years old and everyone had just been served some soup, the little prince suddenly said "Why is there no salt in my soup?"
Quite startled, the King asked the little prince "In all of these years, you have never spoken before, my son - what has made you speak now?"
The little prince looked surprised and said "I never spoke before because there was nothing to say".
