    Musky workhorse wanted

    Hi Guys

My First Post and when it comes to Fragrances, I do have the Scent of a Virgin Fragrancee!

    (1) Old Spice: but I don't want to smell like my Grandad!

    (2) Brute: Been there done that. time to move on.

    (3) Chanel pour homme: Very subtle I love it and just the kind of Fragrance to wear on a dinner date or going somewhere that has an air of Sophistication.

    (4) Joop: I know this has had some mixed reviews but this is my everyday 'Workhorse' that instantly gives a big hit and I used to have a Girlfriend who loved me wearing it.

People do notice that you have taken the trouble to smell nice and while I don't look like Brad Pitt, when I go to Auction Sales in London wearing this, girls seem to come over and stand next to me.

One of them made the comment that I smelled really nice and wanted to know the Fragrance I was using.

But now I want to try something new and would like to find a new 'Workhorse' Fragrance that I can wear everyday without breaking the Bank.

    These are my Criteria.

    (1) Price: £50 or under

    (2) Musky

    (3) An instant hit Fragrance like Joop

    (4) A Musk with a nice drydown that is an unmistakable Female attractant.

In someways Joop seems to do this but I'm looking for a mature and manly fragrance.

I did have a spray of 'Millionaire' but it just didn't do it for me, in fact I could hardly smell it at all on 'my' skin, even though it had some great reviews.

Guys I would appreciate your help

    Hi Mick

    Thank you!

I will do some research on this and check out the reviews but I cannot remember seeing something with such a distintive name like that on the shelf of a well known chain of Chemists where I could have a sample spray to try it.

    Thank you again

    Declaration by Cartier

    TDH by Hermes

Although not a personal fan of this, it does seem Mick that this is spot on what he is looking for.

Musk by Kiehl's and Mania by Armani.

    Welcome!

Kiehls is a cream brand that should be sold either in dedicated store or in fancy-ish department stores. Their perfume isn't that expensive. Original Musk, which I like, is a dirty† musk, which means that some will find it sexy and some will find it stinky. Along those lines, more controversial, there's also YSL Kouros.

I'm wondering whether you rather mean a smooth musk. For that you can check Narciso Rodriguez.

    Thanks for the Welcome cacio

I think I can see what I'm doing wrong by not going into those upmarket stores which I am always walking past when I am in London and I am also going to update my Criteria.

    Thanks Again!

Le Male by Jean Paul Gaultier might be worth a try, it has the vanilla and spices that Joop! has, although not the musk. But an instant hit and easy to wear everyday.

    Jovan Musk.

The male version/flanker of the Body Shop White Musk†

Also Acca Kappa Muschio Bianco: though closer to niche in terms of quality, longevity and naturalness, still likely to be retailed within the thread-starting, required price limit, both at discounted and even full price.†

Both fragrances are likely to be complimented among the fans of cleaner, slightly soapier musks and also quite suitable for daily wear.†
