Are you riding the Aqua Di Gio train?

Aqua Di Gio is a super popular men's fragrance. A lot of men wear it including a lot of my friends. For some reason it doesn't stick out to me as great. I'm not knocking the fragrance or the men who wear it but it is referred to as "Sex in a Bottle". I just don't see it. So my question is are you boarding the Aqua Di Gio train or does something else tickle your fancy?

Decent fragrance IMO. Don't wear it as much these days. Good one to have in your collection though.

I think it is a very good fragrance. Great for smelling good/clean/fresh in the summer.

    I haven't worn it since the 90's...

Would you rock the original today, or the Essenza flanker?

Also has been a long while since I've worn it, but I do like it.

It's a nice clean smelling fragrance, great for spring and summer, but I still don't see what makes it stand apart from the others. ADG doesn't seem to catch my nose like that.

Not much, but I enjoy Essenza far more.

I've always thought it was a good fragrance but since I started wearing it years ago when it was first introduced I must say that I'm somewhat tired of it. It's too common. Yes females like it and I am a fan of aquatic type fragrances but I tend to look for something similar yet different. I did purchase Essenza and like it but at the same time it is similar enough to the original that I don't wear it often.

I wear AdG regularly along with other fragrances I like, and I think it's a fantastic fragrance. I don't know about "sex in a bottle", isn't that the awful Aventus? I wouldn't want to wear "sex in a bottle" anyway.

Own it, wear it, and enjoy it. The larger my collection grows, the less i wear it, but that is true of all my fragrances.

I own it and like it. I don't think it's a bad scent by any means but I just don't find myself in the mood to wear it much.

Essenza has really brought AdG back into my wardrobe. I respect the EdT, but I just don't want it most of the time. Essenza really has people like us in mind. It's AdG EdT for people who truly love fragrance.

AdG is a good choice for the one-fragrance guy - especially one who has a wife / lover / friends who like "clean" but not "perfumey".

I don't want "sex in a bottle" either. I can see it now.....

Me: Hey, honey! Guess what I'm wearing?

Wife: I don't know, but it's giving me a headache!

Honestly, my nomination for SIAB would be Guerlain's Boisee Torride. It's technically a feminine, but it's so boozy, woody and gourmand, it's almost androgynous in a very loud and bold way. Great fragrance - very similar to Tonka Imperiale, IMO. It might function as a clubbing scent, but it seems a bit too intimate. I find it very interesting and "boudoir". Haven't bought a bottle - probably would have if I was younger and not married!

Between you and me, I usually don't do these kind of replies. But I couldn't resist this time!

I've yet to own Acqua di Gio (I've only sampled it, and not enough to merit a full wearing), but the similar (and cheaper) Perry Ellis 360 Red is one of my most complimented fragrances. A girl that I work with, her boyfriend wears ADG and whenever I wear 360 Red she says I smell just like him. I've told her numerous times that I'm wearing something different but to her it smells the same.

I'll give it credit, been a top seller for 15+ years and to this day girls still like the smell. Me, well i'm more interested in Niche, and I do own a bottle of AdG, but I haven't worn it in a long time and the last time i did, I sort of felt like an average joe who'd been wearing the same scent for 15 years so i just haven't reached for it again since.
