London is fantastic for two reasons. Harrods and Les Senteurs. I'm biased though as I've a few friends at Les Senteurs. It's such a fantastic store though. You always feel so at home there. Nobody forces you to buy. They've a great collection, and they always have suggestions and ideas for what you may like. It's like a family... Plus I met Kilian there :)
Harrods is great for the Black Hall. Amouage, Guerlain exclusives, Chanel exclusives, Tom Ford, Bond, Creed, etc. all in the same room. Not fond of that Sixth Floor Urban Retreat though. You have to go through that weird salon to get there and it's always empty. The purple-velvet-everything decor looks a bit tacky and it's very cluttered. I feel like I'm going to break something in there whenever I walk in.
One other gripe is the Liberty pay system. There's usually one person working the entire area. It's very busy so it takes at least 20 minutes to be seen to, and you have to be seen to in order to pay. The Le Labo boutique is also very poor in Liberty. There's always the same TA there and he just tries to force you to buy. I don't think he even mixes the fragrances properly as they all smelt so washed out and faint.
Me: 'I really don't pick up much from this at all'.
Him: 'It's so strong, it must be your nose. For me it's so powerful...'
He then proceeds to slather my hand in perfume oil...
However, the selection in Liberty is very good. Malle, L'Artisan, Bryedo, Nasomotto, Creed etc.
Off to NYC next week though, so we shall see. Hopefully the Le Labo store is better there!
