    Aesop shine

Has anybody else had the pleasure of trying the new Aesop's Shine hair oil/brillantine?

Walking by the store in NYC, I decided to buy it. I use hair oils. Aesop has produced a wonderful, resinous perfume oil like Mystra, and other worthy and natural smelling products, from the orange-laurel body oil to the pleasantly clean and non-soapy petitgrain-cedar laundry detergent.

The shine is advertised as borage and petitgrain, so I was expecting something pleasant and natural smelling. Not so. this is an aquatic concentrate. Has Aesop managed to find a natural source for the dreaded aromachemicals? Beach seaweed absolute? I am unfamiliar with borage oil, but I would not have expected the bitter herb to smell like calone.

To add injury, oil keeps perfume really well, so for the whole day I got aquatic whiffs emanating from my hair. totally puzzled as to why Aesop did this. that said, highly recommended to aquatic lovers to amplify the pleasure of Eau d'Issey, Aqua di Gio, and similar.

I have never heard of it and I don't use hair oil. Does Aesop produce bath products?

Yes, Aesop has a full line of shower gels, shampoos, face cleaners, and the like (including a shampoo for dogs...)

None of what I smelled in store, so far, smelled marine like the brillantine.

Was waiting anxiously for this after lime polish was discontinued (which is also coming back - yipee).

Dennis Paphitis is a perfectionist and I love this oil!

Mystra the perfume is sadly discontinued. Am told there will be another ......but wonder if it is the difficulty in getting the mastica note. I will really miss this perfume.
