    Hello All!

Long time viewer of the forum, and old-school fragrance fanatic - butfinally signed up formally today, and wanted to say hello...

You have all been a veritable font of knowledge over the past couple of years that I have been cruising this site; your wisdom and opinions are much appreciated!

I am focusing on signature fragrances now; after much trial and error throughout the 80's & 90's.

thebeck has been a great help to me in getting to know the Puredistance line, and I have just ordered my first bottle of "M", and look forward to the winter release of "Black". I think that between these two (both in scent and cost) will keep me happy for the time to come...

Other than these - my most recent purchases have been Houbigant'sFougere Royale (2010), and Heeley's Sel Marin and Cuir Plein Fleur.Previous to those, Narciso Rodriguez For Him in its various incarnations, and my old stand-by since the late 80's - VC&A Pour Homme.

    My faves from the pastare:

    - Jean Patou Pour Homme

    - Guerlain Mouchoir de Monsieur

    - Knize 10

    - Knize Two

    - Balenciaga Pour Homme

    - Escada Pour Homme

    - Boucheron Pour Homme

    - S.T. Dupont Signature

    - Hermes Bel Ami

    - Santos de Cartier

    - Grey Flannel

    - Farenheit

    - Zino Davidoff

    - Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui

    - VC&A Pour Homme

    - VC&A Tsar

    - Ralph Lauren Polo Green

Looking forward to getting to know you all here -

    special thanks in advance to:

thebeck, Darvant, shamu1, Jack Hunter, alfarom, foetidus, drseid, Diamondflame, hednic, marais, bokaba, and Buzzlepuff - (amongst others)

You gents have been quite helpful in these last years of searching the site - as your reviews, observations, and helpful attitude in general are always on point, and say a great deal about your character.

    Cheers & Best Regards,

    Dennis (BlackSwan)

    Thank you, Tony!

Signature is one of the frags that I truly, truly miss. It was alwaysharder to find in the US back in the day,but my family was based in Paris for many years back when it was in full production, and I got to keep a steady supply.

If I could still have it consistently - I probably would have never switched to anything else!

Cheers, and thanks again for the welcome!

My belated welcome. Hope you will enjoy BN- congratulations for your fragrance choices and/or preferences so far, they are truly a well-stocked, diverse, stylish and balanced selection of a decent amount of classics. Frankly, this is one of the advantages of BN I admire the most and has been of invaluable usefulness for me. Since no matter how vintage, powerhouse, classic, obscure, exclusive, limited-edition a fragrance is, most likely, at least a few Basenotes members will have additional info, price ratings, more or less extensive illustrations, hints and links to trustworthy and comparatively affordable purchase sources for them.
