Hello, I recently bought a 100ml Tester bottle of Tom Ford Black Orchid. I noticed now that the bottom label is completely different from the one I saw in Sephora. Everything else seems okay.

    Could it be a fake?

I've included photos of the bottle.

Many folks will tell you that fakers would much rather produce a product that looks just like what you would buy in the store, with the correct fake packaging too.

When it comes to testers, the real things rarely come with nice packaging, and are sometimes missing their caps. While some people will buy testers, they normally expect to pay less for them, and as a result fakers rarely put their energy into producing them.

I suppose it's possible that you got a fake bottle that was removed from its "original" packaging, but if it came marked and packagedas a tester, then there's a good chance it's real.

I second what bird boy said. You did not mention any sniff test. Does it smell like what you tried in sephora?

Agree with the others that this would be an important factor.

I demand justice. I hope all the fragrance fakers will meet their destiny.

Btw the bottle looks fine. The sniff test should do the trick. I can't imagine fakers replicating suck an intricate concoction. (I can't spell... sorry...)

The opening is slightly different from the one in sephora wich is a little dense. But in the drydown there is no perceptible difference between them and the longevity is 10h plus.

more mental stress working about this, taking pics, etc than if you just paid more and got the real thing.

stress and time cannot be measured adequately compared to peace of mind of buying legit.
