Nobody ever mentions it..
Around 30 bucks..
I gave it 5 stars and compared it to LIDG in January..
What do you think of it?
Blind bought Vera Wang myself, because it was available at a mall shop for firesale price. I also think I gave about $30 for a 100ml of it.
Even still, at that price it was a failure. At first sniff, it has some promise, and I could see the similarity with LIDG in the very open with the citrusy-woodsy opening. However, Vera Wang isn't even in LIDG's zip code as far as quality, it's quite synthetic to my nose, and turns thin after the first few minutes.
I don't hold "synthetic" against a fragrance necessarily, but in this case, it means this smells cheap. Sillage and projection are probably on-par for a "formal" scent, i.e. not overly heavy. However, longevity was poor on me.
LIDG didn't quite live up to the (admittedly sky-high) expectations I had, but I'd still call it quite good. Unfortunately, I'd give Vera Wang about 1.5 - 2 stars max, out of 5. Good call on the LIDG comparison though, there's something in there that's shared in the open in particular, I'd agree.
EDIT: Oh, and therefore I'd have to conclude that we don't hear much chatter about Vera Wang because there's just not much to say about it
I bought a bottle recently (not blind, though, we have it here in our department stores) as for the price it is quite good.
I really like the scent, that dry wood, tobacco and spice with a good dash of added sweetness that draws the compliments.
My only complaint is with its strength - this stuff is a skin scent after just a couple of hours. If this had the power and life of LIDGE it'd sell like hotcakes.
Nevertheless, a great office scent.
I've had a bottle for years, still haven't put a true dent into it despite wearing it occasionally. I actually like it, find it inoffensive but it definitely plays like I tend to love my fragrances - very near and close to the skin. So the projection isn't the strongest unless it's a very warm day.
It's always gotten compliments from the wife, but I just don't find myself reaching for it often. But you know what... I'll probably end up wearing this today.
