Maybe. Luxury for the public today is about name recognition, and pricetags don't matter if people don't know why you spent so much (recognize the name). If there are too many brands, then it doesn't matter how much they cost because they're too plentiful to make an appeal to exclusivity. Because eventually, there are going to be sales, coupons, discontinuations, and an eventual flop in the product line.
