Momoberry - new fragrance from Hello Kitty

Last year when Sanrio launched its first Momoberry store to meet the lifestyle needs of adult Hello Kitty and Sanrio fans, there was only one thing missing - a fragrance.

The store needed a signature scent, one that was in line with the now sophisticated tastes of the legion of fans who have grown up with Hello Kitty. The fragrance had to be like no other on the market and of the highest quality. Sanrio turned to a young, independent parfumeur who was skilled in artisan, boutique essences to create the Momoberry signature scent, an individual who had also been a loyal Hello Kitty fan since childhood -- Tristan Brando.

"I knew from the beginning that this was not going to be a childish fragrance," says Brando. "After all, Hello Kitty and her fans had evolved, even the children of the women who had grown up with Kitty are more sophisticated. I wanted to infuse a young-at-heart essence with hints of euphoria, but with a subtle glamour that was not ostentatious. It's how one feels when enmeshed in Hello Kitty's presence - something's there that just makes you smile inside."

The directive for Brando was "sunshine in a bottle," and so the task of hand-blending began. Samples were produced, rejected, refined, rejected and refined, until one day it all came together.

That fragrance is light and fresh and dare we say -- a little sexy. Island floral ingredients were sourced to make sure that a sensory vacation was insured -- Frangipani blossoms, red hibiscus, star jasmine and gardenia. These are followed by Tahitian vanilla, sandalwood coconut milk and the thinnest veil of driftwood musc. The composition together creates a unique, unforgettable scent with appeal to a broad range of individuals -- just like Hello Kitty.
