Creed to sponsor Polo event

The Creed Fragrance Company has announced a move into the arena of sports sponsorship. The company will be taking a secondary sponsor's role in the exclusive Veuve Clicquot Cup finals which will be played at the Greenwich Polo Club in Greenwich, Connecticut on September 16, 2007.

Adam Brecht, Director of Corporate Communications for Creed in North America, explained that this is a bold move for the company as Creed has never sponsored an event (although it has supported charity events) in its 247 year history. Adam went on to say: "The President of Creed North America, Thomas Saujet, or I, will present each player at the conclusion of the tournament with a gift from Creed, likely a limited-edition men's fragrance. Creed will also have a visual presence at

the tournament."

The Creed family interest in polo extends beyond sponsorship of the sport; sixth generation perfumer Olivier Creed enjoyed polo recreationally in his youth and seventh generation perfumer Erwin Creed is an active horse rider. This interest in the sport extends so far that Creed are putting together their own polo team, to include a member of the famous family and Adam Brecht, who will most likely be coming to Europe to play next year.
