As Basenotes reported in November Chandler Burr's incredible insight into the often secret and always mysterious world of scent creation, The Perfect Scent, will be available from 22nd January. Chandler Burr had unprecedented access to Hermes' Jean-Claude Ellena and Coty's Sarah Jessica Parker during their very different, equally enthralling journeys to find the perfect scent. The resulting wealth of information and experience has been gleaned by attending corporate strategic meetings, creative sessions and financial briefings. It includes incomparable industry insight and one to one conversations with major players in the field of fragrance from both sides of the atlantic.

In fact so vast is the body of work from which the final draft of The Perfect Scent was selected, that Basenotes has been given an exclusive opportunity to publish some of the passages that readers of the book will not have the chance to savour due to the constraints of space and editors.
