Over 5,700 entries in Fragrances of the World 2008
Twenty-four years ago Michael Edwards published the first edition of Fragrances of the World containing 38 new fragrance launches. Since 2000 almost 5,000 new fragrances have made the annual volumes.

Upon the 196 pages of the 2008 edition, there are 5,700 entries, ordered according to olfactory family. Available now, Fragrances of the World 2008 is the only guide to classify selective, niche, direct retail, ‘masstige’, mass market, limited edition and seasonal fragrances.

The online offshoot of the guide, www.fragrancesoftheworld.info, was awarded the first of two prestigious FiFi Awards, that are testament to Michael Edwards contribution and commitment to the fragrance industry, when it won in the Technological Breakthrough category in 2004. The second award that Edwards received, in 2007 in the same category, recognised his achievement in developing the Scentsa Fragrance Finder instore programme, alongside Crescent House Publishing and fragrance specialist Jan Moran.

It is Michael Edwards’ close friend and mentor Guy Robert, to whom the book is dedicated this year. The master perfumer is the ‘nose’ behind such legendary classics as Hermès Calèche, Madame Rochas and Dioressence.
