There is a growing rumour in the industry that glamourous young actress Freida Pinto is to be the latest muse for global giant Estee Lauder.  The 24 year old star of Academy Award winner Slumdog Millionaire - the film walked away with eight of the coveted Oscar statuettes - has been caught up in a whirlwind of success which has seen her sign on for a Woody Allen project, model for Dolce and Gabbana and led to appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Show with David Letterman. 

Neither party has commented, but if a deal is completed Frieda will become the first Indian face of Lauder.  This will help to cement the company's presence in India, an economy still expected to experience strong growth despite the global economic situation.   

The former model will join the ranks of Estee Lauder's glamourous hall of fame including Gwyneth Paltrow, Elizabeth Hurley, Hilary Rhoda and Carolyn Murphy, who have variously been the faces for Sensuous, Pleasures, Beautiful and Youth Dew Amber Nude.
