New old face for Eau Sauvage
Christian Dior have chosen Alain Delon to be the face of its Eau Sauvage fragrance.

Delon, awarded Best Actor in the César Awards for his part of Robert Avranche in Bertrand Blier’s Notre Histoire (1984), rose to fame in 1960 when he starred as Tom Ripley in Plein Soleil, a film based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel The Talented Mr Ripley.

The company are using a picture taken of Delon in 1966 - the same year the fragrance was launched

A spokesman for Dior said: “It was obvious. Alain Delon is a myth alive and Eau Sauvage, a classic French perfume. We chose a photo from 1966, because it is the year of creation Eau Sauvage. This image has not aged and will allow us to reach both the men who remember Delon at that time and younger customers to be seduced by its rebellious and irreverent.”end of article
