Mona Di Orio's Foray into the world of Fashion: Jan Taminiau Check, Check Mate

Those amongst us who like the idea of a
fragrance wardrobe may be in for a pleasant suprise with the launch of
Mona Di Orio's collaboration with fashion designer Jan Taminiau. Of course fashion designer/perfumer collaborations are not unusual but such projects rarely fall under the 'niche' umbrella.
The perfumer has created a scent for the designer's Check, Check Mate Spring/Summer 2009 collection to add a "third dimension" to the couture. The project is described as "a modern reality which is nostalgic and romantic versus raw and resistant. An erotic olfactive play between masculine and feminine."
The top notes of the fragrance are rosebuds, bergamot and hyacinth followed by violet, rose absolue and peach, drying down into leather, musk, benzoin and ambergris.
