Arden announce face for Daytona 500 fragrance

Elizabeth Arden, have announced that Jimmie Johnson, 2006 winner of the Nextel Cup Series and reigning champion of its premiere race, the Daytona 500, has signed on with the company as national spokesperson for the Daytona 500 Fragrance for Men.

Elizabeth Arden introduced the Daytona 500 fragrance, produced in partnership with the International Speedway Corporation, at the running of the 48th annual Daytona 500, won by Jimmie Johnson, in February of 2006.

Jimmie will be featured in national advertising, promotional packaging, in-store displays, sales promotions, and public relations activities. The television advertising campaign, featuring Jimmie along with his wife Chandra, will underscore the brand's message 'Live DAYTONA 500. Every Day.' The television campaign begins in December, geared for the holiday fragrance- buying season.

Johnson scored a major victory on Sunday, November 19th, taking home the 2006 Nextel Cup Series championship. In winning the Nextel Cup Series, he became the first driver in the sport's history to win the championship, the Daytona 500 and the Brickyard 400 in the same year. Since he started racing in the Nextel Cup Series in 2002, he has won more than 20 points races, the most by any Nextel Cup Series driver. Sports Business Daily has ranked Jimmie as one of the most marketable drivers and he was voted 2004 Driver of the Year by Sports Illustrated, USA Today, ESPN the magazine, and Sporting News, among other publications. He has an exclusive weekly show on XM Satellite radio. Jimmie founded and is extremely active, along with Chandra, in the Jimmie Johnson Foundation, benefiting children and families in need in the US.

The Daytona 500 fragrance is available at JCPenney, Sears, Wal-Mart, Target, Kohl's, CVS/pharmacy, Rite Aid and other fine fragrance retailers.end of article
