Elizabeth Arden announced today that the Company signed an exclusive global licensing agreement with Danielle Steel, the internationally acclaimed novelist, to develop and market her own line of fragrance products to debut debut in the US in Autumn 2006.
The partnership marks the author's entry into the prestige fragrance market -- the collection will be designed to reflect Ms. Steel's image and style. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"We are proud to be partnering with Danielle Steel. She is recognized globally as a tremendously talented and brilliant author," said Paul West, President and Chief Operating Officer of Elizabeth Arden. "Ms. Steel's image will be instrumental in creating the vision for the brand. She will be personally involved with Elizabeth Arden in all aspects of product development, bringing her elegance, ideas of romance, and passionate personality to her signature line."
Ms. Steel, looking forward to expressing herself through a medium other than the written word, commented, "This is a wonderful opportunity to introduce my readers to another dimension of my creative life. Fragrances represent so many of the aspects of life that my characters experience -- commitment, love, emotion. Elizabeth Arden is the perfect partner to help make my vision for this fragrance line a reality."
