The US FiFi Award Nominations 2004

The Fragrance Foundation today announced the ten “Fragrance of the Year” finalists for its 32nd annual FiFi® Awards in four women’s and men’s categories. A second ballot to determine the top five finalists, in each category, will be distributed to Foundation members in early April and the results will be announced at a breakfast honoring the FiFi finalists on Friday, May 7th, at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in the new Time Warner Center.

There will be a total of thirty FiFi® Awards presented with several new awards added such as Retail Innovation of the Year and Interior Scent Collection of the Year. For the first time, fragrance consumers will also have an opportunity to voice their vote in three new “consumer’s choice” awards sponsored by Cosmopolitan, CosmoGirl and Nordstrom respectively. In addition, 2004 FiFi nominees appearing on the original ballot are eligible for awards in the packaging and advertising categories.

The Awards -- scheduled for Wednesday, June 9th -- will be held at a new location – the Hammerstein Ballroom in the Manhattan Center. Actress Sigourney Weaver will be the evening’s host. Last year’s host was Tony award winner Harvey Fierstein. In addition, Oscar de la Renta has graciously agreed to act as Honorary Chairman of the 2004 FiFi® Committee. Traditional dinner and awards show tables and individual tickets are available and this year the Foundation will make available “dessert and award show” tickets priced at $125 in the hopes of reaching a broader range of the industry.

Luxe Pack New York, is an official sponsor of the 2004 FiFi® Awards. On June 8 & 9, the FiFi finalists will be showcased at the Luxe Pack New York event – a leading tradeshow for the luxury product packaging industry.

Also supporting this year’s FiFi’s is CPC Packaging Magazine, a leading industry trade publication.
