John Bailey has taken over the presidency of the British Society of Perfumers. He was elected at the Organisation’s AGM in May, which featured international fragrance expert Michael Edwards as key speaker.

The panel will judge which fragrances will be the winners of the first FiFi's in the Middle East. “The success of a perfume is more than just in its fragrance. It needs to be marketed, packaged and put in retail intelligently”, explains Grit Pannier, President of Fragrance Foundation Arabia. “That is why we have chosen our jury from different backgrounds and sectors to put the judgement on a broader platform.”

To celebrate the Fifa World Cup, broadcaster Sky TV has developed a fragrance to enhance the viewing experience. They claim it will transport viewers who spray the scent to the terraces and be as close as they can possibly be to the football from their sofa. The fragrance named Eau de Stade, was created by John Bailey of the Perfumer's Guild and the scent is fronted by Rachel Stevens.
