I am a 50 yr old former 80's goth chick who still loves the scents of my glory days with soft florientals/(not too)spicy/woody complex scents. My all-time favorite is Anais Anais. I spent the 80's-90's in a cloud of Halston, Obsession, Avon's Mesmerize and Rare Ruby, Coty's Wild Musk, JPG Classique, Boucheron and Samsara. I love coriander and incense and myrrh and sandlewood and patchouli (in small doses) with bergamot, jasmine, mimosa, orange blossom, gardenia (white florals I guess...) and dirty musks or ambers. I do not mind a vanilla or chocolate/tonka note here and there but not the dominating fragrance. I adore chypres, woody/balmy ouds and even some straight up "springtime" florals (I loved Elizabeth Taylor's White Diamonds-BRILLIANT but NOT the original White Diamonds.) I wear Givenchy's Pi (for men) or KL's Sun, Moon, Stars as a casual right now, sometimes in combination with a vanilla splash like BBW's Warm Vanilla Sugar. Not really into the fruity stuff.
So I am trying to update and find a lasting signature scent. I'm not opposed to classics but I really want something I can find without a treasure hunt. Something in the $100-$150 range. Something that can go from day into night with just a refresher spritz. Complex. elegant, mysterious with an earthy element. Black eyeliner and red lipstick but now sans the combat boots and black fingernails...think more of the classic "Interview with the Vampire" rather than "Twilight".
