Thanks for your help.
In the meanwhile, I gave Black Oudh another go and this time I loved it and thought it was incredible. Came out very woody the second time.
Hi there, I was interested in your review of Attar...I normally cannot stand rose fragrances because they tend to smell a bit dead or dried out on me and for me, it means a loss of radiance. I much prefer a more alive scent much as you have described attar as being. I ve only ever experienced that aliveness, that feeling of actually touching the petals on a perfume in my childhood which I cannot remember! Can you recommend any other rose scents as well as Attar? By the way, I have sampled black aoud, I was extremely disappointed but there again, I m not a fan of dried rose scents. I didnt get 'moist' as one of the reviewers decsribed it and felt a bit like an old lady going around smelling of roses.
How close are you to the International Mall?
I look for samples everywhere I can. Mostly online (ebay, TPC, fellow Basenoters, etc.) but I get samples in the discount fragrance stores as well as a sniff or two of the bottles that are tucked behind the Le Males and Acqua di Gios. Also these fragrances are in their respective designer stores so when I come across these stores, in I go and sniff (like Zara or Salvatore Ferragamo)!
As for time, like with anything, my philosophy in life is: if it's important to you, you make the time.
