Easter says you can put truth in a grave, but it won't stay there. The resurrection gives my life meaning and direction and the opportunity to start over no matter what my circumstances. Our Lord has written the promise of the resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in spring-time.
  2. Oh dear! Miss Casey, forgive this long long over due PM! I remember I was supposed to send you a sample long ago and I forgot, please forgive me. I was busy with some house-moving and was recently going through some old reminder notes and realised I'd missed sending them to you! I don't really recall now what I'm supposed to send, but I'm going to prepare samples of some of my faves for you. Please leave me your full shipping address and I'll have them shipped out asap.

    Again sorry!

Hope you're doing fine, as I haven't really seen much of you on the boards lately.

BTW your inbox is full, that's why imma leave you this note here. = D

Hi Casey. I am glad you liked them. I would love to hear your thoughts on them. :*)

I'm glad you're enjoying it. It reminds me of cherry pipe tobacco a bit. It's one of the best, recent Caron creations. I'm surprised it isn't more popular.
I love CDOV, too. I have a travel size bottle that's getting very low, so it's good to have a real bottle back in my collection.
I'm glad the trade worked out for the both of us.
  10. Thank you for the very kind comment. I am flattered and honored. Anyways, I wanted you to know that I've enjoyed you presence on Basenotes, and its really exciting to see how enthusiastic you are. I can see a really great future in your fragrance adventure. Keep it up!

Glad-to-be-Back Ramble

by misscasey on 11th October 2012 at 12:58 PM
Just wanted to say how nice it is to be back on Basenotes after taking a break for awhile. It's not that circumstances really warranted any absence on my part, but once in awhile I "fall out" and come back. I suspect that I'm not the only person who does this. I actually do this with a lot of my other hobbies, leaving them for awhile and picking back up from time to time. I have too many hobbies/interests to engage in all of them or any number of them at once. I sort of rotate them unless

Goodbye, Original Samsara :(

by misscasey on 16th February 2012 at 05:39 PM
I have to say I'm extremely disappointed with the new version of Samsara- it's not the same scent at all!

I fell completely in love a couple years ago with the partial bottle of the original EDT version, which I swapped with a kind fellow basenoter. I loved it! Everybody who smelled me loved it! Even strangers and folks I'd just met commented on it. I felt I had found my holy grail.

But then I ordered the new version, and it's only the faintest interpretation

Chanel No. 5 vs No. 5 Eau Premiere

by misscasey on 22nd August 2009 at 11:33 PM
My thought on these two:

Definitely two distinct scents. The former is warm, sweet, and soapy. The other is similar with an added sweetness which in my opinion resembles an orange creamsicle. I prefer the original as the supersweet orange creamsicle is too much for me and becomes syrupy. The other remains clean and mysterious and sexy. I do think that No. 5 Eau Premiere is a nicely made scent- I just prefer a little less corn syrup.
I also get a slight chemical smell that

Jardins de Bagatelle

by misscasey on 21st August 2009 at 09:57 PM
1st application:

My nose isn't picking much up on this today, and I applied a lot. However, my loved ones can smell me from yards away. So far this is soft, warm, and sweet. At the same time I'm getting sharpness or tartness from the florals. I could appreciate this on someone else, but I don't expect to fall in love with this myself. It seems too dainty and serious to me. Just in case my nose isn't working today, I will try it again sometime. But until then, I feel lukewarm about

Champs Elysees

by misscasey on 20th August 2009 at 06:05 PM

Today I'm trying a sample of Champs Elysees and so far it smells great on me. Made in 1904 though I'm guessing it's reformulated, this is the oldest scent I've tried. I was struck right away with its crisp cheery edge. Not what I normally would think of as old fashioned.
(I think many older frags I've tried have gone bad and so really I should few expectations for "oldies." )

But this is good stuff! Clean, fun, polite, bright, sweet, sparkling,
