I'm excited, too! Yes, I will need to save but that's ok. I had no intentions of treating myself to any smellies until later this summer, anyway. This will be an extra special treat for me! Will be so much more fun to shop with another fumehead!
I had a sample of Sartorial and I agree with you- it's wonderful! Very classy; really enjoyed that sample. Also love BB. I love more of their feminines than I can afford but I think they really excel at masculines. Am excited to help you explore them- start saving those pennies!
What!? We have Penhaligon's here now?!!! Oh, no, they are one of my favorite houses! Yes, once we get past having workers here at the house every day, I will need a shopping buddy to go with me to Saks. Maybe think about late summer/early fall. Oh, this is going to hurt my budget, having Pen's nearby!
That's so cool your dad was born in a National Home- yes, I know those, too! Lots of catalog homes here in Indiana. No, they are not easy to upgrade; even buying furniture is a pain because it has to fit through tiny doorways and make tight turns. The roof has a very severe pitch so you know that's extra costly because of the danger. If these old houses weren't so charming, I'd have run away from home a long time ago! I'd love to get down your way soon- you are close to some great sniffing, too! We will have to raid Nordstom's and Saks' fragrance counters one of these days!
Glad to hear you're well! Just fine here, too. We are doing lots of home re-modeling right now; we have an old Sears & Roebuck catalog house, which you have probably seen all over this state. Was built in 1930. Putting on a metal roof right now. Besides that, just trying to keep the veggie garden alive in this drought we're having! Is it dry as a bone there, too? Haven't been down your way in awhile.
So great to hear from you, D.! I haven't forgotten you, either! Was wondering where my Hoosier pal had gotten to. How is everything? Done with school now? Catch me up when you have a minute!
Very glad to have been of help! I'm only a bit frustrated that I don't seem to be able to edit the text on my test list and wish list. But at least it works for the most important pages.
Sorry about taking awhile to get back to you, I've been busy with the holidays and all that stuff haha. Do I think Tobacco Vanille is worth the price? Absolutely, as long as you don't mind spending that kind of money on it. I personally got a 30mL decant of it at a very reduced price. I feel like that's a much better way to go unless you like the actual bottles and having authentic juice as a guarantee - I would've purchased it this way if the opportunity for a decant had not been there.
So yeah, if you don't mind spending the money I'd say it's worth it. It's an amazing fragrance, but it's hard to wear, which is another reason I got it in a smaller size. You don't need more than a few sprays of this stuff so a 50mL is in my opinion a lifetime supply haha. So depending on how much you'd use it is another thing to consider.
You're right,a lot of people won't get how special your Back to Black is but as you get older, you'll find there are others out there with unique tastes, even around here!More people just have mainstream tastes and that's just fine, too.I have a friend who wears nothing but Bath and Body Works body sprays but she's plenty unique in other ways. We're all odd when you get right down to it and you'll find there's a lot more acceptance of that as you get older.Just enjoy that bottle!I did get a replenishment of my Hermes Kelly Caleche for Christmas.I've recently had the opportunity to try some of the Frederic Malle line and I fell in love with Une Rose against my better judgment(the Malles are pretty crazily priced, too).I've decided I can't live without it so I'm purchasing it.The Malle line so far has been strange but beautiful to my nose and Une Rose is actually rather dark, even.I do like odd things-I guess I'll have to try some Kilian's!Take care and let me know how BtB works out for you!
Glad to see you're still around!I hope you had a very Merry Christmas, too!I read your post about your wonderful gift-I'm not familiar with By Kilian fragrances(not yet, anyway,I'm trying to prevent myself from falling for too many niches!)but I can tell you there's nothing worse than saving a very special fragrance for occasional use, only to have it turn before you can use it all.So wear it!Wherever and whenever you feel like it.I can almost guarantee you won't run into anyone else wearing that one in Indiana(not often ,anyway!)so you'll be unique.Someone must have really wanted you to have a special scent to wear!Happy New Year!
