The other advantage to Eau de's is you can buy more compared to the price of one bottle of parfum! muaaaahhhh
  2. Hurrah! Its a miracle!

Love your Guerlain v Tom Ford thread! Please be my friend, fellow guerlain fan?

I wondered what you were talking about, in regards to the Fracas-chypre bit, but I thought, "Perhaps she smells something I do not" and did not question it. Bandit is sooo good! I've been pondering a fb for months. The only caveat is the dry, powdery drydown that feels so inconcruent to the dirty, leathery, badassness of the rest of it.

I've only tried LHB in extrait, so I guess I should not be so quick to judge the whole thing. I'm just not a Guerlain fan. Nothing I've tried of theirs has spoken to me, except Mitsouko, and a few have been downright awful. I would like to try Samsara, though; that one sounds up my alley.

You should definitely make peach jam next year! Canning is such an undertaking. But yes, water your tree first.

Your opening line made me laugh. Nope, not covered in jelly. They all sealed properly and everything, woot! And no, Fracas has yet to live up to its name on me. I ought to rename it "Polite and Demure." I hear ya on the sledgehammers, love 'em! Sorry about Alien, man. You should try Alien Liquer. It smells very similar (maybe a little sweeter) and it might wear better on you.
  9. Kal- that was really sweet of you to think of me ! Thanks very much !
  10. Here's looking at you, Kal!

    Merry X-mas!

Me and Carnal Flower - Part One:

by Kal on 5th January 2011 at 05:41 AM
I have a great idea! Instead of blurbing about a newly acquired fragrance in Word and then trying to transfer 3 months worth of observations into a blog, I'll do it all as blogs! Bit by bit! That way I won't have the odious task of censoring my blogs or trying to figure out where to splice them. My Jungle L'Elephant and L'Heure Bleue 'reviews' are two blogs long - each - so I am yet to post them. I hate editing - I need an editor!! D:

Anyway, onto Carnal Flower from Frederic Malle.

To whom it may concern:

This is me ...

I have tried posting my reviews on Basenotes only to have them disappear into the 'system' too many times so I've decided to change my tac and post blogs instead.
I was lurking for about a year before joining last February and only joined because I had a question to ask but I still haven't asked it - and it still

Hello There

by Kal on 22nd March 2010 at 12:28 AM
I've been out of the loop in all areas of life since my kids were born in 2006.

After a blog posted by Atlanta1 I discovered that L'Oreal had taken over YSL.
Having only recently learned that L'Oreal still tested on animals I was horrified to think that they would be doing the same with YSL perfumes and was glad that I no longer have any.

On further investigation I was even more horrified to find out that they also took over The Body Shop in 2006! Shocked! Appalled!
