    Yay, you're home! Will you be there for a while now? I have a little letter to send you! I am so extremely jealous but HAPPY that you and Al were able to make time for a chat in Vegas! I love the thought of two of my favorite people together. We are deep into a major home renovation, no traveling for me for some time to come. You will both have to fill me in so I can live vicariously through your trip!

    So sorry, it took me a while again!!! My new semester just started and between making heads and tails of my homework and wrapping up huge Weil pass I was a bit overwhelmed. Santa Fe was great! It's nice to be around people, especially, creative and bit strange ones that seem to overrun this city. We listened to some nice rhythm and blues in the evening, had some very stiff James Bond worthy martini, and danced a bit next to a gentleman wearing bright red patent leather shoes...

    Thank you so much for your warm communication and sorry it took me a while to reply. We just came back from weekend in Santa Fe: it was fun but very exhausting. Yes, decants are a saving grace, especially when they are finished and I discover that I didn't need it so badly after all. But I admire Heeley's reserved and sophisticated style. If I win a lottery I will buy his whole line! So you like jasmine? Have you tried Jasmin de Nuit? If you have, what did you think about it? Of course it is more about spice than jasmine

    Hello dear gel! Yes my niece and I are "girlz" indeed. She is a sweetie. It seems that at age seven, you want to be "cool" and all good things are "cool", whereas all things that are not cool are "weird". I have two bigger nieces too, aged fourteen and sixteen. Their latest object of desire is Chanel Nail Polish!!

by Warum on 1st July 2010 at 03:56 PM
Yay, this is the first month I stuck to keeping track of all my wears! Whoo hoo!

June 2010 was the first month I really stuck to it, keeping track of everything I wore and sampled.

The results stunned me. I am officially calling my June 2010 "A Month of Sampling Feast" -- I wore 52 different scents in June!!! Some wearings were "researchy" kinds --

Which fragrance(s) seem to affect your mood the most?

I've been trying to devise some sort of "rubric" for putting stars on my samples and bottles of perfume for the wardrobe. When something ranks at 4, this means I am starting to get some of this connection with my mood. When I start getting a connection between the perfume and my mood, that's where usually

Prep for Sniff & Speak

by Warum on 28th June 2010 at 01:26 AM
Wow, it's officially less than a week before the July Sniff & Speak! I didn't order a sampler of greens from the Perfumed Court, but got some ideas for greens from them (from the deluxe green sampler, mainly). I got four samples (plenty for a Saturday!):

- Celadon : A Velvet Green by DSH Perfumes (an aromatic green classified by Fragrantica);
- Botanical Essence No. 1 by Liz Earle (classified by Fragrantica as aromatic, mainly because bergamoth and lavender, I guess);

It probably won't work in really hot weather, but over here.... ah well, I'll stop rubbing it in. I'm off to the valley, maybe it'll
