Monsieur, I was sorry the thread came to an end. Your writing is very descriptive and you have such a unique talent. I wonder if you have considered starting a blog of your own. I think it would be wonderful! Do be careful about stereotyping. We come from all walks of life here, as I'm sure you know. It's all in good fun, but there are thousands of us who make up this board and we all have different taste! Lord knows, I've had to hold my tongue a good deal when it comes to that! Your friend, Kumquat
le mdm, I am furious about this act of caprice. It is disrespectful and insulting to all contributors as it implies any of us broke any rules. It is totally unacceptable and I'm drawing my conclusions. If you care to read my statement, it is in today's SotD thread on the female board. Thank you for a great thread... let this GD offer you part of her stola to place around our swan necks!
MdM, very sorry to see the end this morning. Wonderful thread, and I really enjoyed it. Amazing insight, amazing writing, amazing analagies....on and on.
This Chanel woman tips her hat to all the posters that made that thread what it was. And you guys even let me play along....very civil on you
BTW, MdM, it is Bois des Iles by far, but I very much enjoy many of the new Exclusifs (coromandel, 31 rue cambon among my favorites)
Maybe, in your honor, I will get my nose into some of the wonderful fragrances described in your thread. It's the least I can do
Match Nul is acceptable. Thanks for all your beautiful posts!
Please start a blog either here or somewhere. Your reach is vast!
.... I guess we can be friends, after all
Thank You to all contributors to
En Avion to Nowhere
A wild ride, and so much fun. I am looking forward to cavorting again with all of you in the future, and, in case there is any question, the official results of the Grandes Dames vs. Cocottes debate are in:
Hooray for all of us! with love to all, leMdm
I am building quite a wardrobe - going through a "sowing my wild oats" phase, fragrantically speaking. I think within a year I will cull the herd significantly and dump the ones that aren't working out (and there are more than a few). I've only worn CDG original once so far, and I'm not sure what I think of it yet. Its one of the strangest things I've smelled so far. It reminds me of something but I can't quite remember what. I can believe it has medicinal properties!
Over Everything...................................2012 !!!!!!!!!
Monsieur "le Mdm" -- fantastic review! Vivid, sensual, orgiastic, and dripping with all sorts of allusion to our search for the "other". And in so doing so, ascend to the divine. Fragrance indeed has the power to conjure and make real (even for a short while) our most hidden desires and buried memories. Thank you for sharing.
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012 to all of you! May all of your fragrant wishes come true!
love, le MdM
