I must admit to never really exploring "musky" scents. I've tried a few that occupy the lower end of the price spectrum, and overall I generally don't prefer them. That being said, I try to keep an open mind and would love to try some of the musk-oriented scents from the natural perfumers.

It might not be a "sophisticated" scent but for bang for the buck there is nothing like Jovan Musk for men. It was way back in 1975 when I first smelled it on a man. WOW WOW WOW. It's light but oh so powerful! Most musks are overpowering but with a little of a men's natural scent--light perspiration-- this fragrance just becomes TNT!!

Like drifting sparks,
or somebody's photo on the internet,
you never know where perfume will end up
once you set it free

Craving, by Perfume by Nature.
There simply aren't enough warning labels on this stuff.

The ne'er-do-well private fragrance investigator is back, and this time he's in real trouble. In addition to his many other weaknesses, it seems he's a bit of a chocoholic, and maybe even kinky for gourmands. Too bad he's about to run into Craving - the Mystery of

Mounted nereid from the temple of Asklepios at Epidauros

Fragrant feelings must be told
But how it's done's a question old.
Should my truth fail perfume's glory
Let this myth tell truer story.

Dionysis by Lord's Jester - Adam Gottschalk, Perfumer

by jrd4t on 10th July 2010 at 01:35 PM
I'm wearing Dionysis this morning - in a few spots in various levels of development.

This one opens intensely with a big plump wine note that is loaded with what seems like sticky balsam. It's heady and intoxicating - it's hard to pull your nose away from.

That stage only lasts a few minutes on me. There's a transition next that speeds through a number of olfactory images to me - some good, some not so good. I get an herbal tea with milk shortly after the initial blast

What goes with great literature? Fishing lures and a lazy afternoon? Perfume? How about a perfume that fits the story like a dandy's scented glove...?

Standing alone in front of the wrong class, our little team-teaching experiment now seemed like a huge mistake. With the AP English and chemistry classes being essentially the
