  1. Hey there Tim, it is very nice to hear from you. Well keep me posted in detail, I think you'll fall in love with at least some of those terrific scents. I don't know Cedar Sandarque, but I do LOVE a good dry cedar. Cheers, buddy.

Thanks for your review of Tauer's L’Air du Desert Marocain, ody. It helped me pinpoint what did not work for me: the sweet amber (I'm OK with drier amber) and the vanilla. Put the two together and I need a quick hit of coffee.

I have several samples coming from TPC, many based on your remarks: PG's L'Eau Guerriere, Cedar Sandaraque, Parfum dEmpire's Iskander, and then there's Spiritus/Land and GreenGreenGreenGreen. cheers, Tim
  3. If you have come to this page, I encourage you to check out my social group, Coneheads. It is a fun group, with good sharing. Please join! Cheers, ody
  4. Hi there, Tara. Check out nukapai's thread on the female side on Nuka and Ody's Mayday get-together. I was in the UK on business and had a nice sniff & chat with nuka. She posted some pics of her day. I'm just back from my trip, and hope to do a similar thread on the men's side.
So things are just fine with me! Nice to hear from you, I hope you are well. Looked for Bois Rouge but couldn't find it anywhere that I was in London.

Happy Tuesday, buddy! Been up to anything fun lately? How are things where you are? ~Tara
  6. Hey there, thanks for these notes! As you know I love woody scents! This sounds great! Thanks for thinking of me, I'll definitely check it out.

Oops, I just realized I gave Bois Rouge a bad review because I tried it on myself. Smelling it on my husband put things into perspective real quick! I'll edit that as soon as that feature is up and running again. Drat!

Hey buddy, how are ya? I have to tell you about a fragrance I just had my husband try. I have never ever encountered anything so sensuous and delicious in all my testing thus far. I am positively drooling over him when he wears it. I want to know if you've tried it or not. I know there are a ton of Tom Ford haters on basenotes, but trust me-he made this stuff and it is gorgeous. I walk down wind from him at all times if I'm not already burrowing my face into his chest to sniff him. It's Bois Rouge. It is the most beautiful wood scent I have ever smelled. And it's all man, no woman could pull this off. Try it if you haven't. I will buy this if it's the last thing I ever do!
  9. Oops, I meant Armani Eau pour Homme. Aramis is another kettle of fish, too heavy and leathery for my taste.
  10. Hi Tara, I was not familiar with M7 but I've looked at it. Actually, I'm very intrigued and will try to sample it. YSL is a good company. The ingredients are solid and masculine. Agarwood is an unusual element, it is also known as oud or aoud. It has a distinctive, piercing note. I have now idea what the mandrake will be like or contribute. I think this will be a bright, woody scent, perhaps with a slightly luxurious dry down due to the amber and musk. So I'd say don't worry at the moment, it may be very good!
Does your husband have particular tastes in scent?
But a couple of popular and (I think) easily available scents are Dior's Eau Sauvage, Aramis Eau pour Homme -- these are classics. Amazing newer scents are Thierry Mugler Cologne and Lalique's Encre Noir. I love all of those, though they may be a bit harder for you to find. Hope this helps, feel free to ask more questions as needed. Cheers,
