Hi, Heartwood. Long time-no chat. Thanks for reminding me about the meet up. I won't be able to go, because of my current work schedule. Wishing you and the others a fun time~

Good Friday is a day of repentence and prayer, a day to remember Gods sacrifice for us, a day to ask forgiveness, a day to renew our relationship with God.

    Heya <3Wood

I noticed you menioned Dark Amber and Ginger Lily on the latest Jo Malone article.
I've just recieved a bunch of samples of JM and DA+GL is the first I've tried and I must say I really like it too! I find it's longevity amazing even though the sillage is minimal. I can still smell it on my skin from my testing of it last night.

RE: The person who used "housewife" as an insult - I sat there and typed and retyped my comment and the attempts ranged from cursing and screaming to winking and smiling but I finally settled on vaugely insulted. My knee-jerk reaction was to virtually grab the kid by the neck and shake him till he cried for his own Mama but of course that would be impolite.

I read 300 years ago somewhere that you're a new Mum/Mom (I saw your tummy when you posted a pic on a thread) - I hope everything went well and that things continue to be well for you and yours! Mine are about to start school - man time flies. D:

    Cheers, Kal

Introducing: Syracuse

by Heartwood on 8th April 2009 at 04:55 AM
A new cat has officially joined our brood. His name is Syracuse and he's an orange tabby who has been hanging around for a couple of months now. This past weekend he showed up with an infected eye, so I took him to the vet Monday morning for an exam and the old "snip-snip." Also, his tail had some filthy gunk on it that required them to shave and then clean it. His eye will be fine. He likely received a swat in a fight with another neighborhood tom who's on our back porch right now and

Field trip: The Perfumer's Apprentice

by Heartwood on 22nd January 2009 at 08:16 AM
Last weekend I made a trip over the hill to take in the sights, sounds, and smells of downtown Santa Cruz, CA. Santa Cruz is best known for its boardwalk, surfing, and the University of California at Santa Cruz. The downtown area is appropriately youthful and bohemian with import stores on every block and street musicians on every corner. There are few cars on the streets; most people walk or skateboard to get around, so it's satisfying to take a deep breath and appreciate the spices of the various
